New Surgical Suites Coming For South Shore Regional Hospital

The Health Services Foundation of the South Shore is making their biggest donation yet.

The South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater will be the recipient of two new minimally invasive surgical suites at a cost of $1.4-million.

The money has been accumulated following donations received by the public, community groups and businesses.

Janet Baker, Health Services Manager, says this will make a big impact on the lives of patients.

“It’s huge for the patients. Having laparoscopic surgery…their pain post-op is lessened, and they’re able to get back to work in a shorter amount of time.

Baker says the added benefit of having top of the line equipment is it will draw other doctors to the South Shore.

The foundation hopes to start working to renovate two of the four current surgical suites this summer.
