Canadian Blood Services is in desperate need of donors. Director of Donor Relations in Atlantic Canada, Peter MacDonald, says there are 245 appointments available for people willing to donate blood in Chester, Liverpool and Bridgewater.
He says they need all the help they can get. He says, “We rely on a small percentage of the population, it’s less than four per cent of Canadians who are active blood donors. And, in the summer months, those folks go on vacation, get out of their regular routine and our clinics over the summer didn’t do as well as we would’ve hoped.” MacDonald says the time is now to donate and encourages people to seize the opportunity. Clinics will be held at the following locations: Chester Legion – Monday September 8 from 1-3pm or 5pm-8pm, Liverpool Fire Hall Tuesday September 9 from 1pm-3pm or 5pm-8pm or Bridgewater Days Inn Wednesday September 10 from 1pm-3pm or 5pm-8pm, Thursday September 11 from 1pm-3pm or 5pm-8pm and Friday September 12 from 10am-1pm.
