Shelburne: New Guild Hall Won’t Be Ready For Start Of Farmers’ Market Season

The demolition of the old Guild Hall in Shelburne is complete.

However, construction on the new hall won’t start until late spring.

It will mean a temporary, alternate location for the farmers’ market and other events.

CAO Dylan Heide says there is a space along Dock Street that will be used.

“We have a plan to erect some temporary shelter there in the form of large pavillion tents and they will be useful for the market or any other Guild Hall users.”

The town will receive the final engineering design next week.

Heide says it will determine how long it will take for the new building to be constructed.

The project costs about $300,000, which is being split by the town and ACOA.
