Sexual Health Centre Gets Much Needed Funding

Some unexpected funding for the Sexual Health Centre means they’ll be able to do in-school presentations.

The United Way has provided $1,600.

Executive Director Julie Veinot says it might not seem like a lot but it makes a big difference.

“Until this grant came through we’ve already had to tell schools that we couldn’t come in and do it unless they pay for it,” she says, “and that’s a challenge because schools don’t really have a big budget for these sorts of things.”

Veinot says the presentation includes an anonymous question box that allow kids to ask what they really want to know.

The presentations will begin this month.
