Region Of Queens: Mayor Reflects On Last Four Years

The Mayor for the Region of Queens is pleased with what they’ve been able to accomplish in the last four years.

Christopher Clark was the first mayor to take office after the Bowater Paper Mill shut down in 2012.

He says making economic development the number one priority has allowed them to start turning things around.

“I think we have changed the impression of Queens,” he says, “because of the work we’ve been doing.”

Clark says the team of councillors elected with him has made all the difference.

“Obviously there’s more work to be done and we’re going to continue to push forward, but it’s been a good council to work with.”

Carlk says the group has consistently worked together towards economic development.

He says the budget released this week is evidence the economy continues to be their number one priority.

Clark isn’t ready to say whether he’ll be running for mayor again this fall, but he says it’s something he’s seriously considering.
