Boston Marathon: Yarmouth’s Albright Finishes Top Among South Shore Runners

The majority of South Shore runners competing at the Boston Marathon finished in under four hours.

Five of the eight men and women completed the 42-kilometre trek in that time frame.

Marco Albright of Yarmouth posted the best time among locals, finishing in 3 hours, 4 minutes.

It was good enough to place in the top 2,100 out of 30,000 runners.

Meanwhile, Lemi Berhanu Hayle won the men’s race in 2 hours, 12 minutes and 45 seconds.

Atsede Baysa took the women’s race in 2 hours, 29 minutes and 19 seconds.

Both winners are from Ethiopia.

Marco Albright – Yarmouth finished in 3 hours 4 minutes and placed 2,086

Christopher Anderson – Bayport finished in 3 hours 47 minutes and placed 13,102

Alf Lacey – Hebbs Cross finished in 3 hours 26 minutes and placed 6,708

Kimble Meagher – Mahone Bay finished in 5 hours 6 minutes and placed 24,813

Connie Meister – New Ross finished in 4 hours 30 minutes and placed 21,834

Thomas Mitchell – Conquerall Bank finished in 3 hours 36 minutes and placed 9,826

Victor Nickerson – Liverpool finished in 3 hours 46 minutes and placed 12,687

Roberta Reardon – Yarmouth finished in 4 hours 7 minutes and placed 18,387
