Shelburne: Town Approves Five-Year Capital Budget

Over $5.3-million will be spent on projects this year in the town of Shelburne.

The town passed its five-year capital budget this week.

It includes a recommendation to chip-seal three major roads including King Street, Water Street and Falls Lane.

Mayor Karen Mattatall says it will cost the town over $200,000.

“And if it works well, then there certainly are recommendations to do more streets in town. We’ll see how it works with those streets first.”

The budget also covers money for improved visitor signage, a new guild hall and a new public park on the old King Street school land.

The total five year budget is $8.34-million.

The town already passed its $3.9-million operating budget earlier this month.
