2014 National Legion Poppy Campaign Begins Today

The Royal Canadian Legion’s poppy campaign kicks off today from coast to coast. Bridgewater Legion representative Roger Purnell says this year’s campaign is especially significant. He says: “(Its) the 100-th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War and Canada’s committment to providing a national armed forces.”
Legion members will be set up in many of the shopping places starting today and you can pick up your poppy by making a donation. Funds raised go to help the Legion with many of its programs for veterans and to assist in the cadet programs in schools.
