A quick call to the fire department and swift response contained a minor electrical fire at South Shore Regional Hospital. A leak because of the heavy rain caused a panel to short out at the hospital in Bridgewater last night. Theresa Hawkesworth says no injures were reported. She says there was no damage to the hospital. “It’s always a concern when there is a fire at the hospital. Certainly. we are very grateful the fire department got there as quickly as they did…and the damage was contained to the electrical panel.” Some patients had to be moved because power was knocked out for a few hours. Hawkesworth says their staff routinely plan and go over protocol to make sure these situation are handled properly.
