Slightly fewer Nova Scotians were injured on the job last year, compared to 2014.
The Workers Compensation Board released its 2015 annual report.
It shows 23,933 were injured on the job in 2015, down by almost 600 injuries from two years ago.
Also, the WCB report suggests it takes longer, on average, for Nova Scotia’s workers to return to their job than in many other Canadian provinces.
There were 27 workplace deaths in 2015 including 19 due to disease and health problems.
CEO Stuart MacLean says the results show as a province, there is still to be done to become the safest place to work in Canada.
Lifting and moving people in the healthcare industry is the single greatest source of time-loss injuries in Nova Scotia.
