South Shore Colour Festival A Success

Around 300 people in Lunenburg County showed up to play in the rain on Saturday.

The South Shore Colour Festival went forward despite showers throughout the morning.

Event Coordinator Ashton Rodenhiser says first year events are always hard to predict.

“Streamlining where your time is most effective,” she says. “So, we learned a lot in terms of how ticket sales were and how that could work and be better for next year.”

Festival goers were given coloured chalk to throw at each other along with games and activities throughout the day.

Rodenhiser hopes to see more things like this happening on the South Shore.

“It’s all about, really, the ripple effects of what you can do as just one person,” she says, “and inspire other people and build people’s capacity and help support them to create their own things.”

Money raised is going to support Art Happening, a not for profit organization that supports artists in Bridgewater.
