Region of Queens Selling Lands to Canadian Developer

Prime real estate in Queens County is being sold to a Canadian developer.

The Region of Queens Municipality has entered into a purchase and sale agreement with Plaza Retail REIT for 84,100 square feet of land in Liverpool.

The land, known as Queens Crossing, is visible from Highway 103 and next to Queens Place Emera Centre.

Mayor David Dagley says he’s pleased.

“It will result in a commercial retail operation with a tenant of their choice, it will bring additional revenue and tax base to the Region of Queens and create economic activity and jobs.”

Plaza Retail REIT owns and manages retail real estate in locations in Central Canada and the Atlantic provinces.

The developer has interests in 297 companies, and approximately 91% of their properties are anchored by national businesses as tenants.

A closing date for the sale is expected in early October.

Further details could be provided at that time.
