West Nova MP Colin Fraser Says Canada Will Continue To Fight Climate Change

In a shocking move last week, U.S. President Donald Trump announced America will withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement.

Nearly 200 nations signed the deal in 2015 as a global agreement to fight effects of climate change and lower the average global temperature.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada remains committed to the agreement.

West Nova MP Colin Fraser says government will continue work to meet climate change targets.

“Even with the current U.S. Federal Administration withdrawing its support for the Paris Climate Agreement, there are many state and local governments that we’ll continue to work with to ensure that people are doing their part for climate change.”

Fraser called the U.S. decision a mistake, and says climate change should not be ignored.

Trump says the agreement put America at a disadvantage financially, and says the country will negotiate to re-enter the Accord, or create an entirely new climate change plan.
