The Nature Conservancy of Canada saw many land donations in 2015.
Atlantic Canadian Spokesperson, Andrew Holland, says it’s becoming more and more common.
“It means a lot to people when they donate lands for conservation because they want to see lands preserved the way they remember it.”
He says it’s meaningful to their organization when families entrust land to them forever.
It also saves them money, because the land comes as a donation.
Since 1962, the Nature Conservancy along with their partners have helped conserve more than 2.7 million acres of land from coast to coast.
