Everyone Wins In The Library Lego Challenge

Love for Lunenburg has been expressed with lego.

There were five entries in the Lunenburg Birthday Lego Challenge put on by the South Shore Public Libraries.

Deputy Chief Librarian Jeff Mercer was hoping the competition would encourage people to take a closer look at their community and he thinks they’ve done just that.

“You can tell that some of that is from down Montague Street and the academy is up top,” he says. “Yeah, you can tell that some exploration of the town and the library went into this.”

He says the submissions, including a replica of the Lunenburg Academy are a sight to behold.

“I was amazed that people just totally put their creativity and really came up with some amazing designs.

Because it isn’t just all recreations of the waterfront, there’s some great interpretations.”

They’ll be on display at town hall and the fisheries museum until Monday.
