Lunenburg Is Celebrating A Birthday

If you want proof you can age gracefully and still be vital, look no further than Lunenburg.

The town is turning 263 this weekend and they’re inviting everyone to the party.

Doors will be open and events will take place across the town.

Art exhibits, open houses and walking tours are some of the highlights.

Mayor Rachel Bailey says the idea is to be a tourist in your town.

“People from all over the world come to Lunenburg and our South Shore area to experience all the wonderful things we have here,” says Bailey. “But sometimes we don’t take the time to see what’s in our own backyard.”

Bailey says you’ll find her all over town but she won’t miss the 5K muffin run.

“I do it every year and I’m not a competitive runner at all. But it’s just an amazing experience to be with that many people.”

Events are happening all weekend.
