Star Wars The Force Awakens has shattered another milestone – reaching $1 billion worldwide.
It reached that goal in 12 days, breaking the previous fastest record which was Jurassic World earlier this year.
It also now holds the record for the biggest Christmas Day box office at $49.3 million.
All these records have been broken before the newest iteration of the Star Wars franchise opens in Chinese markets January 9th – which is the second biggest movie market in the entire world.
None of these numbers include the revenue generated from merchandising.
