The future of the former french school in Blockhouse is up in the air.
The South Shore Social Ventures Co-Op has been trying to transform the school into a model of sustainability and self-sufficiency.
However after more than three years of work, the Municipality of Lunenburg has decided to move on.
Mayor Don Downe says the group had goals to achieve but failed to do so.
“They have not lived up to their end of the contract, so we will inform them that we are terminating our arrangement.”
An assessment estimated roughly $300,000 would be needed to bring the building up to standard.
Downe says they will discuss options including tearing down the school and green-fielding the site.
