Federal Election Candidates Debate Health and Inequality

Federal Election Candidates running in the South Shore-St. Margaret’s riding debated health and inequality issues on Sunday at the Best Western in Bridgewater.

Hosted by the Nova Scotia Citizens’ Health Care Network, the debate included all but the conservative candidate who declined the invitation.

Liberal candidate Bernadette Jordan said, “it was an important opportunity to speak to the more than 150 voters in attendance.”

The Green Party’s Richard Biggar said he was happy to see immigration and refugee policies take centre stage.

NDP candidate Alex Godbold took the opportunity to highlight the importance of his party’s national pharmacare program.

There are four weeks left in the campaign.

An all-candidates forum on democracy, women’s and youth issues and the environment is coming up at the Mahone Bay Centre at 7pm on Tuesday, September 29th hosted by the South Shore Chapter of the Council of Canadians.

Once again, conservative candidate Richard Clarke has opted out of this discussion.
