Brooke Henderson is making a name for herself.
The 18 year old Canadian won her first major yesterday.
She beat Lydia Ko in a sudden death playoff at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
It makes her the second youngest player to earn a women’s major with the victory.
“I was nervous, especially on that three footer to win,” she says, “knowing that all I had to do was make this little putt to beat Lydia Ko in the playoff and to win my first major championship… My hands were shaking so badly.”
It also makes her only the second Canadian to win a LPGA major.
She says she’s couldn’t be happier.
“It was a very cool and incredible feeling. And I know that I had the whole country behind me, cheering me on.”
Henderson moves into second place in the latest Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
