Getting people involved in sport is something Soccer Nova Scotia takes pride in.
This year they have seen a tremendous spike in the number of new coaches.
Since April 1st, Soccer Nova Scotia has trained over 620 men and women.
That almost doubles last year’s total.

Director of Coaching, Mike Whyatt, says coaches weren’t given the necessary tools in the past.
“Probably not enough balls per player and barely any cones and immediately you’re left on your own to survive the summer. That’s not a positive experience to retain or recruit coaches in any capacity.”
Whyatt says they have worked hard to get to this point.
Local numbers are also growing, with over 60 people taking the course on the South Shore.
