Over 58,000 people set foot on Bluenose II this summer.
The vessel opened its first season of public tours and sails in mid-July.
It visited a number of ports in Nova Scotia including Sydney, Pictou and Yarmouth.
Transportation Minister Geoff MacLellan says the community is supportive of the schooner.
“People in Lunenburg are proud of where we’re at now and they feel that there is that stability that we do finally have a ship that is going to serve as our sailing ambassador for many years to come.”
Bluenose II was docked for several days this summer due to steering concerns.
Public sails end on Wednesday.
