Nova Scotia’s Environment Minister says there is nothing he can do to reverse a decision on a rock quarry near Fall River.
Andrew Younger says the environment department approved the application because it met requirements.
Scotian Materials Ltd. is proposing a quarry under four hectares.
Younger says he’s expecting plenty of appeals.
“There will be 30 days to file appeals and most of the issues that have been raised as questions are ones which people can submit an appeal on and then I will review those and release a decision on.”
The deadline to appeal is Oct. 16.
Residents have called for Younger to step-in.
However, he says he can’t because the project hasn’t started yet.
