Canada may be the only G7 country without a national strategy.
However, there is a national awareness campaign underway.
The Alzheimer’s Society Joan Parks-Hubley says Dementia Friends has launched across the country.
“Dementia Friends is really meant to be kind of a movement to reduce some of the stigma around dementia.”
Dementia Friends is holding a panel discussion tonight at 7pm in Bridgewater at the Lunenburg County LIfestyle Centre.
There are 17,000 Nova Scotians currently living with some form of dementia.
