The numbers are up in first two days of advanced polls.
Elections Canada estimates over 1.6-million people voted on Friday and Saturday.
Spokesperson Francoise Enguehard says it’s a spike from the last federal election.
“It’s 34 per cent more than had voted in the first two days of advanced polls in 2011.”
Enguehard couldn’t speculate why numbers are up but suggested the long weekend could have played a factor.
She says they tried to re-organize staff to reduce longer line-ups at some polls.
