The Nova Scotia government could eliminate a ban on Sunday hunting.
However, at least one group is opposed.
The Forest Products Association of Nova Scotia feels hunting doesn’t need to be extended to seven days.
Executive Director Jeff Bishop says 70 per cent of land in the province is privately owned.
He says, “We think that this is pushing those land owner rights in favour of land users, in this case the hunters, and we hope Nova Scotians will support the land owners in this province and say no to Sunday hunting.”
He feels land owners deal with enough issues six days a week during hunting seasons including trespassing and illegal trapping.
The province has open consultations until April 10.
