Students are feeling disappointed on the lack of action from the Nova Scotia government.
The Nova Scotia branch of the Canadian Federation of Students says Liberal MLAs repeatedly supported student demands while in opposition.
However, they have yet to reduce tuition fees or increase funding to universities while in government.
Chairperson Michaela Sam says investing in students doesn’t seem to be on the agenda.
A student has about $37,000 of debt after graduation in Nova Scotia – an all-time high for the province.
Sam says reducing student debt will give young people the financial means to start a family and stay in Nova Scotia.
