A moose caused trouble on Highway 103 last night.
Two people were sent to hospital with minor injuries after their vehicle hit a young moose around 11pm.
Corporal Doug Brennan says accident happened between Shelburne and Liverpool.
“We don’t have many moose-car collisions, at least on mainland Nova Scotia,” he says, “but the area where this happened in East Port l’Hebert is an actual ‘high frequency sighting’ area.”
The car was heavily damaged and the moose did not survive the accident.
Brennan says moose are slower than deer but harder to see. He says drivers need to keep their eyes open particularly in heavily wooded areas.
