Camp Sites Open Near Kaizer Meadow Wind Turbine

It’s camping with a twist.

The Municipality of Chester has opened the Kaizer Meadow wind tower camp site.

They partnered with student council at Forest Heights Community School to create five spaces to set up a tent.

Warden Allen Webber says it is a unique experience.

“You could be sitting at the camp site looking at your tent pitched in the trees and you look over your shoulder and there is this massive piece of technology, that’s powering 550 homes.”

The municipality spent $5,000 to complete the work and received $7,500 from partners with the South Canoe Wind project.

People will need to contact the municipality if they are interested in booking a camp site.

Webber expects the sites to be available year-round.
