Supply issues and uncertainty over what’s happening in the Middle East is affecting our fuel prices here in Nova Scotia.
Senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com says consumers will likely see a difference at the pumps when the province’s Utility and Review Board sets prices at midnight.
“All markets are heading up because of supply issues a swell as some serious geo-political questions over Syria and whether or not the airstrikes in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia have had any impact.”
McTeague expects a one to one and-a-half increase in the price of a litre of gasoline and about a one-cent increase for diesel.
He says prices are also affected by the fact it’s costing producers more to switch from winter to summer fuel blends which costs refineries money.
