Halifax Director To Attend FREE Screening in Bridgewater

Wednesday April 18th, 2018 is National Canadian Film Day and to celebrate, the folks behind Lunenburg Doc Fest are holding a FREE screening at the Cineplex Cinemas in Bridgewater.

Perfume War is a film detailing the journey of two friends’ journey toward world peace.

Pamela Segger, Executive Director of Lunenburg Doc Fest, says the FREE screening Wednesday will showcase a local talent.

“Director Michael Melski is Halifax based so it’s certainly extra special to showcase his work; he’ll be in attendance as well to take part in a Q ad A with the audience,” says Segger.

Segger says having the filmmaker involved with the audience following the public screening certainly adds to the experience and story background of what was just shown on the silver screen.

As Segger notes, the film Perfume War is a very powerful film that will really hit close to home.

Sydney Nova Scotia Native, Captain Trevor Greene, was violently wounded while serving in Afghanistan. Together, with his friend Barb, a single mother, they conquer hate and work to find peace in the world.

“It’s a really interesting exploration of a friendship and also the fight for world peace,” says Segger. “We think (the film) will appeal to a lot of people, and is also quite timely.”

The FREE Screening of ‘Perfume War‘ takes place at the Cineplex Cinemas in Bridgewater (349 LaHave St.) starting at 7pm and is open to the public.

Lunenburg Doc Fest runs from September 20th through 23rd, 2018.
