The RCMP say they’ll continue to crack down on school bus red light violations.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says they’re pleased to hear that the number of school bus red light violations in our region is dropping.
She says it shows more people are paying attention.
Cpl. Clarke says they encourage anyone who sees a motorist pass a school bus with red lights flashing to contact them immediately.
“We’ll need as many details as people can remember. The identity of the driver, if they can, license plate, vehicle description, time and place. those details are very important for us.”
The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education says there were 186 violations in 2015/16.
This year so far, the number is at 135.
