Bridgewater’s Souls Harbour has opened its doors.
The rescue mission offers meals and a friendly ear to those who ask.
Monday was the first day residents could go to the drop-in center on the corner of Empire and Pleasant streets.
Vicky Sovie is manager and chaplin at Souls Harbour.
She says the location was chosen based on feedback from the community.
“We were asking them if this location would be ideal or would a better location. And they said no, this central area was very accessible for them because they walk.”
Manager of the rescue mission, Vicky Sovie says she’s excited to help.
“We are open to help share a meal and offer hope to people who are struggling with poverty in our community.”
The centre will open Monday to Friday from one to four but not on Wednesdays.
