It’s a mayoral showdown.
Don Downe, Mayor of the Municipality of Lunenburg has committed to strapping on a hockey sledge and he has a message for his friend David Walker.
“I will challenge the Mayor of Bridgewater, my good friend David Walker, to be strapped in at the same time and we’ll see how we do on that ice” he says.
Walker says he’s happy to suit up.
But, he says he’s not sure how well he’ll do on the ice.
“Maybe I have a little surprise or something to bring to the table,” he says. “We’ll see how he wants to do it.”
The challenge comes as part of the lead up to the International Sledge Hockey event taking place in January.
Both councils have voted to sponsor the event for $5,000 each.
