A Lunenburg tall ship is getting ready to sail around the Atlantic.
The Picton Castle will leave the town’s waterfront on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
It will begin a six month voyage that includes stops in Spain, Morroco and the Canary Islands before returning to Lunenburg next April.
Forty-five crew members are involved in the trip including 33 trainees.
They will learn seamanship skills including standing watch, scrubbing the deck, hauling lines and helping with ship maintenance.
