Hockey players will be hitting the ice in Liverpool this weekend in support of the Queens County Blades Figure Skating Club.
The man behind the event says he wanted to show support for the local non-profit organization that has been a part of the community for decades.
Liverpool resident and local Financial Advisor, Bruce Inglis, says jumping on board to help the group out was a no brainer.
“When we found out that they could use a few thousand dollars we decided to do a benefit game featuring the Liverpool Privateers so we rounded up some players; the players are always glad to help out the local communities,” says Inglis.
The Privateers will face the Bruce Inglis Financial All-Stars in an entertaining and fun game of hockey, which will also feature some familiar faces.
“Including Gavin Helle and Morgan d’Entremont, who were a couple of fan favourites here and we’re pretty excited to have not only our current players willing to help out in the community but some others will come from as far as Ontario to have a game of hockey,” notes Inglis.
The benefit hockey game gets underway at Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool this Saturday, April 28th, 2018 starting at 7:00pm.
