The Municipality of Yarmouth is holding off on appointing representatives to a working group on health care.
The ‘Rural Nova Scotia Health Care Crisis Working Group’, started by the Town of Shelburne, now includes representatives from 11 municipalities, from Mahone Bay to Digby.
However, the warden of the Municipality of Yarmouth, Leland Anthony, says he wants council to support the group.
“The Health Authority of Nova Scotia is changing some of their criteria moving forward, not sure if the position that the rural health crisis committee is going is the right way.”
Anthony says for those reasons the municipality will hold off appointing any council representatives to the working group.
He says their council needs to understand the full purpose of the group.
