The South Shore will soon be marching to the beat of some new drums thanks to the Awesome Foundation.
Heather Armstrong is this month’s winner of the group’s thousand dollar award.
She will put the money towards buying instruments to support the pipe and drum school she is launching in Chester this fall.
“I believe that the South Shore District Pipe and Drum Band and School is going to open up Celtic heritage down here, ’cause I’ve noticed it’s very, very small.”
The next Awesome award will be handed out May 30th at the Barn in Mahone Bay.
