Fishermen and local harbour authorities got a special visitor this week.
Federal Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Coast Guard, Dominic LeBlanc, visited Shelburne County with MP Bernadette Jordan.
The two heard about issues ranging from aging infrasturcture to small craft harbours.

Jordan says the government has set aside $47-million in this year’s budget to help across Nova Scotia.
“It was really important for the minister to see that we need a long-term plan for our small craft harbours because this is the engine of the economy in Southern Nova Scotia. We need to make sure those wharves are maintained, that they’re looked after.”
The two will meet this fall to talk further with officials and determine priorities.
