The new skate park in Queens County is behind schedule.
Mayor Christopher Clarke tells our newsroom that the park’s designer, Spectrum Skateparks Ltd. of Vancouver, is about three weeks off their projected timeline.
He says construction should begin sometime in September but it should be worth it.
“There is some innovation items that have been put in there that may be unique to only the Maritimes.”
The park is expected to feature pipes, steps and a flow section for skateboarders and bikers.
Construction is expected to last about three months.
The park, located next to Queens Place Emera Centre, has a budget of $530,000.
