The sailing community is mourning the death of Derek Hatfield.
The 63 year-old of Indian Point died suddenly over the weekend.
Hatfield is best known for his two solo voyages around the world.
He was the second Canadian to accomplish that feat and first to do it twice.
Sail Nova Scotia posted about Hatfield on their Facebook page.
Hatfield is survived by his wife and children.
