Western Shore To Honour Former Councillor

Western Shore will honour the life of their former councillor this weekend.

Bob Myra served as a Chester Municipal councillor for over twenty years.

He passed away unexpectedly in April.

His daughter Rhonda is helping to organize the first of what will be an annual softball tournament.

Myra says she hopes for a large turnout.

“Don’t let the amount of cars or the amount of people you see deter you from coming because we just would love to pack the whole place. He would just be beaming with pride over that.”

She says she’s looking forward to hearing from the community.

“We constantly are still meeting people that come up to us and say, I knew your Dad and I have to tell you this story. It would be nice to come out and have everyone together and hear these stories.”

The tournament will be held at the Western Shore Legion starting at 8:00am Saturday.

Live music will follow inside the legion at 2:00pm.
