The chief of staff for the premier of Nova Scotia has resigned.
Stephen McNeil issued a statement just before 4:30 this afternoon, accepting the resignation of Kirby McVicar.
The premier’s staffer was involved in backroom dealings with Independent MLA Andrew Younger.
He also publicly disclosed comments about Younger’s health on Monday.
McNeil says he considers the matter dealt with.
He is back in Nova Scotia after meeting in Ottawa with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the other premiers.
