A drought that began last summer in Barrington is nearly over.
Chief Administrative Officer Rob Frost says last year about 300 households experienced drought conditions.
This year he’s only heard of a handful having issues.
“It’s certainly better than it was last year. We’ve got a little more consistent rain this year, we haven’t heard of as many issues. There is certainly still some people who have issues.”
Last year Barrington was considered one of the driest communities in Atlantic Canada.
A water by-law is set to be put in place that would help provide financing to residents to investigate other options.
Council will discuss the by-law on August 28.
