People are being urged to visit blood donor clinics in Yarmouth, Shelburne and Digby counties next month.
Canadian Blood Services is again making the appeal make sure hospital inventories are well supplied.
CBS spokesperson Peter MacDonald tells us they always get a strong response from the Tri-Counties.
“We want to ensure that hospital patients get to enjoy the remainder of their summer too and never question that there will be blood on the shelf when it’s needed for them.”
MacDonald says the donor base is aging.
“I would encourage the next generation of listeners to adopt blood donation as a regular part of their routine. What a great way to make a difference in their community.”
There will be a clinic in Saulnierville at the Clare Legion Branch on Monday September 11th from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8; in Yarmouth Tuesday Sept. 12 and Wednesday Sept. 13 at the NSCC Burridge Campus from 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm and in Barrington Passage on Thursday Sept. 14 at the Lions Club from 1-3 and 5-7.
