The cross-country recruitment tour by Now Lunenburg County to attract people to the area has hit the home stretch.
Tina Hennigar has been on the road for roughly a month with a Boler trailer visiting communities in different provinces.
She’s promoted the benefits of living in this region like the many beaches, real estate and jobs.
Hennigar says most people are shocked when she speaks to them because they aren’t used to being invited to live somewhere else.
“People are content to be right where they are which is great intel for us to determine what it is about their community that makes it so special because it will help us in our learning.”
Hennigar says the trip has been a fun learning experience.
She adds roughly one in four people are considering relocation and she hopes it will be to Lunenburg County.
Hennigar’s last stop is a homecoming event Saturday night at 6:30 in Mahone Bay at the Saltbox Brewery.
She says there is lots to share with the community.
“There will be people, who because they are now aware of Lunenburg County, they are exploring and investigating options that are available to them.”
The tour made stops in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario on its way back to Atlantic Canada.
