Donald Sutherland To Get Honorary Oscar

You can add an Oscar to the growing list of accomplishments for Donald Sutherland.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 82-year-old Canadian actor who grew up in Bridgewater will receive an honorary golden statuette on November 11 in L.A.

Sutherland will be one of four recognized.

Sutherland has had a six-decade career involving more than 140 films including The Dirty Dozen, Cold Mountain, M*A*S*H, the Italian Job and The Hunger Games series.

He’s also won two Golden Globes, an Emmy Award, and is an officer of the Order of Canada distinction.

The award honours extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy.
