Lots of rain could be on the way for the South Shore and Tri-Counties.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for our region.
The weather agency says a developing low pressure system over New England will intensify as it tracks northeastward to lie over central Labrador by early Friday morning.
Showers and thunderstorms associated with this system are expected to intensify over southwestern Nova Scotia this morning and spread eastward.
Twenty to 40 millimetres of rain is expected with the heaviest amounts possibly exceeding 50 millimetres by Friday morning.
Environment Canada says there is some uncertainty and changes in the forecast track could alter how much rain we receive.
