Nova Scotia First Province To Receive Membership Benefits With CanCham

The province has obtained membership benefits with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, China.

In a release, the government says this will drive export growth and opportunity for Nova Scotia’s exporters in a key market.

Premier Stephen McNeil announced today that the province has committed to a one-year initiative to extend membership benefits to Nova Scotia exporters who are ready to do business in Shanghai.

McNeil says with China being the fastest growing market in the world, and Nova Scotia’s second-largest trading partner, the country is a priority for his government and businesses.

The Premier Laurel Broten, President and CEO of NSBI met with the chamber in Shanghai to discuss the initiative.

Nova Scotia is the first province in Canada to obtain these benefits.

Last year, the province exported $491 million worth of goods to China.
