Bridgewater’s Jade Ley took home a gold medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
The 15-year-old piano player received top marks in Atlantic Canada at the highest level in piano.
Her father, Web Ley said his daughter’s love for the piano started at a very young age.
“She got her first Fisher Price piano when she was two years old. We knew that she had rhythm because she would play the song and keep up with the rhythm,” remembered Ley.
Jade was also one of the youngest invited to play at the Tuckamore Chamber Music Festival this past summer in Newfoundland.
Despite her many accomplishments, Ley stops short of calling his daughter a prodigy.
He said Jade works hard and practices no less than two hours a day.
